Ciao! 😁
Benvenuto su italianando where we will be talking all about Italy and Italian.. the language, the people, the traditions and so much more.
I’m Italian myself and I’ll be taking you on a discovery journey, posting blogs, videos and podcasts! Sharing the coolest information and Italy’s behind the scenes if I can say so.
I was born and raised in Italy but I never truly appreciated where I came from and my Italian roots until I moved away for university.
Living abroad not only made me miss home, something you get used to in the end, but it made me miss my country in general, the warmth and friendliness of the Italians, the weather, the food, the ‘’too emotional and dramatic’’ side Italians have and the hand gestures 😂
There’s so much to discover about Italy.
The festivities, the ‘sagre’: typical villages celebrations, (you’d be surprised to find out how many there are).
The dialects of each region which some of them sound like a completely different language to me.
The typical dishes…
Sayings and expressions that change from city to city, town to town…
Art and architecture are one of Italy’s biggest achievements in history, the country was home to some of the most famous artists and architectural movements, look at the Renaissance for example.
Italy truly has a vast cultural heritage and it can definitely afford to show it off.
Maybe sometimes it can be a little close-minded on some aspects, it still needs to work on that but it’s such a beautiful and varied country and I can’t wait to take you on this digital journey across Italy.
A presto,
Francesca
